Update on Twinnks
Rachel, of Rebecca and Rachel, here. It’s been a minute since we last posted, but it’s only because we figured quality over quantity. In other words, we had nothing to post about because it’s been a waiting game and surely you don’t want to read about us creating a posting schedule for November. Now we’ve got updates.
The 4th prototype came in and if you happened to catch this post, it pretty much sums it up. The changes we made from the 3rd prototype just weren’t what we thought. Perhaps our expectations were too high. To be honest, there was a moment of “Shit, we launched our website and social media too early. People are going to get bored and we’ll die failures. We suck.” After I picked Rebecca up off the floor, we had a fire under us to stop with all this back & forth nonsense and just make another visit to San Francisco. We hired a fit model, the factory ordered new fabrics and we’re preparing for an uber productive two days. We’re going next Wednesday and the plan is to leave with the 5th prototype in hand and the production sample underway (we paid a rushing fee so that better happen).
Another dope happening in the past few weeks was our feature on FemFounder! This came about because we got an e-mail alert from HARO (Help a Report Out: an e-mail subscription that allows journalist to post when they need to interview someone) for a HuffPost article looking for female entrepreneurs. Duh. So we e-mailed our best pitch and it’s a no for now, BUT the writer happen to have a website called FemFounder and she wanted us to be on it. We weren’t expecting to reveal our names until we were ready to launch, but when this opportunity came up, it was a resounding YAS, so here we are. The first taste of media attention, a decent jump in our social media following and e-mail sign ups, and we’re eager for more. Side note, everyone who shared, liked, commented, and followed: y’all are the best. Thanks! It was fun seeing so many people we know, as well as strangers, show support. As a result, we were asked to do a guest blog post for FemFounder, so we’re busy working on that—although I got sidetracked to write this. That should be out in a few weeks and trust, we will share it.
That’s it for now. These will start becoming more regular as we finalize the bra. Thanks for bearing with us!!
