We’re Rebecca and Rachel, twin sisters and founders of Twinnks—an innovative T-shirt bra that will be outrageously comfortable, adorable, and most of all, won’t show lines under clothes. We began working on Twinnks in 2016 and started this site to document the entire process from prototype, to launch, to (hopefully) growth and beyond. We plan to launch in 2018 so follow us here and on social media to stay up to date!
How are we different?
For starters, we’re women, which is a rare find in this industry. Most bra companies are run by men who seem to love lace, tiny bows and push up cups. That’s cute and all, but we’re not about the frill. Our focus is on functionality, comfort and, of course, making it flattering. Second, we’re committed to relating to our customers rather than talk down to them. There are a lot of bra companies who position themselves as experts and treat customers like students. That’s not our style. We’re extremely new to this world and we won’t pretend otherwise. Lastly, we’re actually building this company from the ground up. Everything up to this point is from money we saved: no GoFundMe page (although, nothing against it) and no venture capitalist hurling money at us.
Ultimately we hope to expand our products into all things basics: t-shirts, tank tops, undershirts, etc. Our style is extremely minimalistic, so we’re constantly on the hunt for the perfect tee/tank. We know what works and what doesn’t, so that’s next on our list. But first, the bra…
How is the bra different?
Our biggest issue with current bras is that you can always see the cup line. It was impossible to find a bra that was supportive, comfortable and flattering, all while hiding the visible cup line (which we refer to as the VCL). Those that claim to hide it were either bralettes or too full coverage. So, we’ve created a modernized T-shirt bra. Not only does it have molded, seamless cups, but there’s an added element that takes it a step further and smooths out the cups edge.
